Days of heavy rain caused the White River and other waterways across Central Indiana to rise to extraordinary levels in August 2026.

Emergency responders conducted dozens of rescues as floodwaters rose. Elsewhere along the White River system, river levels broke records dating to the historic floods of 1913.
